The Shofar Man's Newsletter Volume 8 - Part 2

Vacation or Mission? Part 2

While in Paris, France our tour director warned us to be on guard for pick pockets. She was right, we got a picture of this pick pocket in action!

I am pretty sure this one has picked my pocket before!

On many days during our trip, I would carry my shofar as we toured the country. It draws a lot of attention and makes people curious and they want to hear it .

If you look closely at this picture not only do we have the attention of the 2 closest people but 10 other people in the background.  After we sound the shofar, we then hand people tracts or CDs which they receive graciously. The sound of the shofar opens the door, it opens up peoples hearts to let us into their world.

When traveling Carla likes to shop, I will usually follow her into a store with my shofar hanging on my shoulder.  I watch to see how the store owner reacts. It often opens the door to sound the shofar. As I sounded the shofar, Carla gave the lady the shofar tract. You can see the lady is already reading it. Again God uses the shofar to open the door to share the gospel message.

The shofar is a wonderful door opener to sharing the gospel message. I would encourage everyone that sounds the shofar to get it out of the church and in to the market place were God can use it to reach lost souls.

Do I like carrying the shofar everywhere we go? No! But it is not about what I like, it is about allowing God to use all of our gifts to reach a lost and dying world.

Carrying the shofar made it possible to share Jesus with over 250 people on this 2 week trip!  We did not have to push it. We did not have to make it happen. I just carried the shofar and God provided the opening.

As I sounded the shofar,  I saw this man smiling! He did not speak English. I walked over to him and handed him the CD.  I was able to convey that the CD was a gift for him. He read the title, nodded his head and smiled!

The scripture says that God is eternity, that God has placed eternity in the heart of man and that the voice of God is like the sound of a shofar. So when a shofar is sounded, that which is like the voice of God, the voice of eternity connects with the place called eternity in the heart of man!

This is supernatural witnessing!!  The Holy Spirit opens the door!  I have never seen anything like this!

When I sounded the shofar this time, a lady walked up to us and said would you do that again?  My husband wants to record it and show it to all our friends in Belgium.

Nehemiah 4:20

King James Version (KJV)

20 In what place therefore ye hear the sound of the trumpet, resort ye thither unto us: our God shall fight for us.

Do you think that could mean in France where you hear the sound of the shofar ,God will fight for us?

Could it also include in Belgium where you hear the sound of the shofar God will fight for us?

If you are one of Gods end time army of shofar sounders please get beyond the walls of the church!!

If you know anyone that God has called to sound the shofar please forward this email to them.

Saints please pray for the people pictured above that received the gospel message on a tract or a CD.

Please also pray for the 250 people that we shared the gospel message with through CDs and tracts as we traveled.

Thanks For Praying !!

Shalom
Jim and Carla
